Area with double star cluster h and c Persei

Date: 06 September 1996, 23.00h CEST

Lens: f=135 mm, f/1.8, piggyback on a CG-9

Guiding: no corrections

Exposure time: 5 minutes

Film: Scotch Chrome 400

Along the upper edge of the picture are three HII emission nebulae IC 1848, IC 1805 and IC 1795 (from left to right) barely visible. Above h Persei (that is the right one of the two) is Stock 2, another open cluster containing dimmer stars that are not as concentrated as h Persei and its companion.

There is some vignetting visible resulting from taking the picture with the lens stop fully open.
